banking (ifrs9) - sr.consultant, manager & senior manager level

Our client’s rapidly expanding IFRS 9 team currently has insufficient resources to manage key IFRS 9 programmes as well as drive responses to Requests for Proposals. As a result, an opportunity has arisen for senior consultant, manager & senior manager level resources who can help to meet their demanding IFRS 9 2016-2018 pipeline.

Your responsibilities as a manager or senior manager in the Management Consulting IFRS 9 team will include:

Managing and running IFRS 9 client engagements
Preparation / setup of client opportunities and maintenance of live engagements
Providing subject matter expertise on the operational implications of regulatory and accounting change which includes impact on data &
technology, processes/controls/governance and people
Managing and mentoring engagement team members
Assist with the design / build / implementation of IFRS 9 target operating models
Helping to develop the IFRS 9 proposition/offering, and assisting in the responses to IFRS 9 client Requests for Proposals ('RFP'), with a primary focus on banking clients but also potentially with other industries
Reviewing and providing quality assurance of IFRS 9 work products
Engagement assurance and commercial risk management
Writing client reports based on analytical exercises (data and process reviews, stakeholder interview) to present findings and recommendations
Starting to build and maintain client relationships 

In addition you will:
Monitor, coach and develop others you work with on other non-IFRS 9 engagements
Actively contribute to financial management knowledge management
Lead change projects outside the IFRS 9 space once implementation is completed in 2018
Help to define requirements for new solutions and assets
Support business development initiatives, both internally and with clients

Qualifications and Skills

Successful candidates should have good Banking finance knowledge (including interactions with Risk functions) and possess the following skills:
Qualified accountant or relevant work experience (ACA/ACCA is preferable)
Ability to manage IFRS 9 client engagements with limited supervision
Experience in running small accounting change and/or IFRS 9 programmes
Good understanding of leading practices for financial management/financial processes/trends in finance
In-depth understanding of how the IFRS 9 standard impacts clients, primarily financial institutions
Strong analytical skills in relation to impairment techniques
Strong work ethic, and professional and personable
Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills. Visio skills desirable but not essential
Able to scope the approach to client engagements and lead a work stream or project
Knowledge of Finance data, systems and tools advantageous
Experience of managing people with the ability to lead teams and develop others
Able to demonstrate project management with a proven track record in delivering high quality programme, project or assignment outputs
Impairment process experience desirable

Experience in a number of the following areas:

Experience of large scale project and programme management/change management
Implementation experience
Financial services, with a focus on banking
Finance function transformations
Finance function target operating model development and implementation
Experience of proposal writing and presenting to clients
Experience in internal practice development preferred
Business development/sales experience required
